Ayaan founded Travel Tribe Africa in 2020, initially as a informational blog, but with the intention of developing it into a fully-fledged travel business over time.

Since graduating from University of Brighton in 2006, he followed the corporate career path, which has been interesting and enjoyable. However, his true passions, were being limited. Travel Tribe Africa provides a way for Ayaan to not only enjoy his own passions, but to share the whole experience with others too.

Ever since he was growing up, Ayaan has loved travel, scuba diving and photography. He first visited Africa in 2001, when he travelled to Sharm el Sheikh, a well known holiday destination in Egypt’s Red Sea Riviera. Having been to Egypt many more times since then, Ayaan has also enjoyed travelling to other African countries, including South Africa, Kenya, Rwanda and Morocco.

More recently, Ayaan's connection with Africa became much more personal. In March 2015, he travelled to Nairobi, Kenya to meet his future wife. Little did he know that he would be visiting the country twice more that year, quitting his job, packing up life in the UK, moving to Kenya and getting married before the end of the year! Unfortunately, after nine months in Kenya the family had to move to the UK due to various circumstances. However, Ayaan and his wife Nazia are very much looking forward to relocating back to Kenya permanently in the not-too-distant future. In the meantime, they take every opportunity to travel back to Kenya to visit family and explore new locations.

Shabbir (Ayaan's Father-in-law) started in the Kenyan tourism industry in 1971 and became a very recognised figure in the peak of his career.

He has held management-level positions with some of Kenya's leading tourism firms, such as Southern Cross Safaris. He understands the nuts and bolts of the industry and has hands-on experience in almost every facet of the tourism market in Kenya, including personnel, accounts, transport, tour guiding, operations, VVIP meet & greet, training, purchasing and handling legal matters. Shabbir has also represented Kenya at many international trade events, such as the Emirates Brochure Launch in Dubai, in which he was instrumental in achieving the "Most Informative Stand" award, assessed by some 250 international travel agents.

Shabbir is highly personable and extremely friendly in his nature. He goes above and beyond to ensure all guests in Kenya are warmly welcomed, comfortable and has the best experience possible. We're delighted that he's now supporting Travel Tribe Africa, as our Kenyan Representative. He is always on hand to answer any questions and provide personal assistance to our clients, on the ground, whenever needed.

Shabbir also runs his own Pizzeria in Nairobi, which serves up the best pizza in town! It's called Eatalian Pizzeria and is located in Legend Valley Business Park, off Gitanga Road in Lavington (link below).
